Despite the rain, the Kwanzaa Festival took place at Leimert Park, with organizers noting that the weather would bring greater blessings to those in attendance.

Kwanzaa heralds the New Year, and the community festival celebrated Black pride with a parade and a wide range of activities, including Double Dutch, line dancing, hula hooping, and classic and vintage cars.

The theme was “Kufua,” meaning “resurrection,” as the community came together to share meaningful moments and enjoy the celebration.
