Granada Hills marked its 42nd annual Holiday Parade this year, and the mood felt even bigger than usual. The parade landed right in the middle of the community’s centennial celebration, a reminder of how long this corner of the Valley has called itself one of the most neighborly towns around.
For many, showing up wasn’t just about watching. Local public and private schools marched together. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, dance studios, and community groups filled out the lineup.
Behind the scenes, volunteers make the whole thing happen. One longtime volunteer marked her tenth year helping run the event. She explained that the entire parade is powered by community members giving their time, simply because they care. That pride shows on the route, where families line the streets to support their neighbors and celebrate the place they call home.
